What We Are
A Florida not for profit corporation founded in 2006 and governed by its Board of Directors as a conservation corps initiative rooted in the tradition of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) of the 1930 and affiliated with the 21stCentury Conservation Service Corps and The Corps Network.
We provide on the job training for Opportunity Youth or those who are unemployed, underemployed, youth exiting foster care for 15 to 25 year olds and veterans up to 35 years old and, in some leadership positions, up to 29 years old. CTW and YACC also engage undergraduate students in environmental service-learning components of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) coursework on projects.
CTW earns its revenue by performing highway maintenance activities for cities, counties, the State and other related companies throughout Florida. In addition YACC and CTW work in conservation and the environment improving public lands and waterways while working with public partners (city, county, state, federal agencies as well as other nonprofit and in some cases for profit partners who are involved in conservation and environmental work).
